Emergency roof repairs in Gislingham and the wider IP23 lanes are twenty two miles from us, about thirty five minutes, which keeps the village inside our same-day area. At night that figure needs a caveat. The lanes out here are unlit, single track in places and slow in bad weather, so we give a realistic arrival time rather than an optimistic one, and we ask for directions as well as a postcode. Exposure is the other half of it. Nothing breaks the wind here in any direction, so the village address is misleading: roofs out in these lanes carry loading we would normally price for on the coast.
